Dr Barry Wilks (Chair) BSc (Hons), MSc, PhD (UQ)
Dr Barry Wilks has previously worked at Southern Cross University for over 30 years. During this time, he has taken academic leadership roles including Head of the School of Multimedia and Information Technology as well as course coordinator of the IT courses at that institution for many years. After merger with the School of Business and Tourism he was elected Chair of the School Board and Academic Integrity Officer for the School for nine years until retirement from the university in 2019.
Dr Wilks has been involved in the Information Technology field for over forty years. He worked in the areas of software engineering and client/server computing, designing and implementing many systems, courses and units. His formal qualifications are all in the area of Computer Science and he has performed many consulting roles in software engineering before and during his academic career and he is currently working in this area.
